With the goal of establishing cooperation agreements between Brazil and Angola for the promotion of education advancements, the lecture carried out on October 25th during the International Education Week gathered in the Richard Seen Auditorium students, professors and the community. The lecture was given by the Angolan Embassy Counselor, Dr. Augusto Inácio.

“The partnership between Angola and Brazil presents mutual benefits, balances the relations and brings reciprocity”, says Dr. Augusto Inácio.

During the talk, the Angolan representative approached the theme: “The country’s Educational Development”, with important data: In 1964, 85% of the population was illiterate throughout the country, and there was only one public university. Currently, there has been a revolution in the high education system, with 47 public and private universities and a significant smaller amount of illiterates.

The country stops relying only on oil as an income source and faces an economic growth through the promotion of education and teaching. He also mentioned the role of church in the social construction of citizens and the implementation of private universities that promote the mobility of Angolan students.
