The Research Department of UniEVANGÉLICA’s Law School (NPDU) has been doing a work for the last four months that has never been done by a private educational institution in Brazil. The Italian translation of two articles and two books of the deceased author Emilio Betti, a reference of European juridical hermeneutics.
The material had the participation of another world reference in the philosophical phenomenology, Gaspare Mura. It was he who granted permission for the material to be translated by the NPDU. Professor of UniEVANGÉLICA’s Law School, Antônio Alves de Carvalho is a former student of Gaspare Mura.
Until then, only the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) had authorization to translate this material.
The translation of is being done by professors Antônio Alves de Carvalho and José Roberto Bonome. Articles should be ready by the end of this month and within a year, both books are expected to be translated as well.
“The materials are already being reviewed by NPDU Supervision and will be forwarded for publication in national and international journals. Both the articles and the books will be used as bibliographical references in our Law School and even at graduate level. This material contributes with the interpretation techniques of legal and philosophical texts”, explains the coordinator of the Research Department of Law, Professor Mariane Stival.
The content of the material is on the study of legal hermeneutics, which are techniques for interpreting legal texts, such as doctrines and jurisprudence of the courts. The material will be used in an institutions throughout the country.
NPDU – Today, the Research Department of UniEVANGÉLICA’s Law School has 14 research professors. Approximately 90 students of the Law program are involved in research on various subjects: Human Rights, Philosophy of Law, Environmental Law, Women, Childhood and Youth, Structural Problems, International Law.
