The Japanese Week, promoted by the Japanese Embassy, and with the support of the Academic Coordination of the Internacional Affairs Center – NAI, was officially opened on Thursday, November 10th.
The event took place in the University Center of Anápolis – UniEVANGÉLICA, and had the participation of students from various courses. During the official opening, the Computer Engineering student, Vítor Augusto, shared his experience of an exchange program in Japan.
He talked about his feelings of loneliness when arriving in Japan, his learning experience and the cultural richness one has by doing an exchange program. He also emphasized the myths of the Japanese cuisine and about an internship in a big multinational, Mitsui.
The rector of the University Center of Anápolis, Dr. Carlos Hassel Mendes and the International Academic Coordination, Prof Marisa Espíndola, the businessman Jorge Matsubara and representatives of the Japanese Embassy also participated in the ceremony.
“We want to highlight the importance of the Japanese Embassy and the importance of this partnership with the International Affairs Center, said the rector during his opening speech.
During the event, different workshops were held such as Ikebana, Origami and Japanese Culinary. Also, the movie theater in Anashopping received movie sessions of Japanese movies as part of the program. A lecture about Japanese architecture and singular buildings in Tokyo closed the Japanese Week.
