The Computer Engineering course, through the Turing Technology Factory (FTT) is developing an Academic and Financial Management Software for an education institute in Angola. The project is called VIRTOO and is part of the partnership between the International Affairs Center of UniEVANGÉLICA and the Higher Polytechnic Institute VIDA (ISPVIDA) in Lubango, Angola.

The director of the Computer Engineering course, Prof. Viviane Carla, highlights the importance and greatness of the project. “The project is an instrument capable of accomplishing the tripod Teaching, Research and Extension. In addition to promoting the improvement of professional training of academics, due to the size and complexity of the project and effectively give the internationalization process and experience in the course”, she says.

The project currently has the largest participation of members, with 17 people in the team. VIRTOO works with the latest technologies and framework, as well as being a multilingual platform in English, French and Portuguese. Software development is also already generating business interest in team members.

The team went from 1540 hours of work in 2016 to 2240 hours a month in 2017 showing the impact of the project on the course. In addition, there was a 30% increase in interest in TCC research on VIRTOO. Janaína Lima Guimarães, from the 9th period, is the student responsible for the project and tells of her experience: “Because it is an international and large project, we are in contact with international and cutting-edge technologies, this has a great influence on the curriculum. We have learned a lot about project management too”, says the student.

INTERNATIONALIZATION

The International Affairs Center (NAI) through its Academic Coordination seeks partnerships to develop international education actions within UniEVANGÉLICA. The academic coordinator of NAI, Prof. Marisa Espíndola, points out the importance of this partnership. “We were there in person and we knew the place. They have a very large need for new technologies and the lack of such access prevents them from having a better organizational system. UniEVANGÉLICA will contribute in a significant way, facilitating the administrative and financial life of ISPVIDA”, she says.
